Event Poster Final

Image
The sketch I selected from my six was the one that I received the best compliments from my classmates.  The feedback was very helpful and it was great because I had myself narrowed it down to two choices.  The sketch #6 was the finalist.  I think sketch #6 was a favorite because it was the one to be the most interesting.  It also allowed me to tell more of the story about the location of the event which is fascinating because it was the location of the original 1969 Woodstock.  Today you can go to this location called Bethel Woods and see concerts, festivals, markets and there are many class programs for all ages.  There is also a cool museum at Bethel Woods that showcases Woodstock 1969 music festival.  I was able to go to the Halloween Festival when taking a class at Bethel Woods.  The Halloween Festival is super impressive with beautifully carved pumpkins and I even got to meet the artist of the pumpkin sculptures. I first found the ...

Event Poster Sketch

Image
I decided to create an event poster for Halloween Event that happens over at Bethel Woods which is where the 1969 Woodstock event had taken place.   I have taken classes and did an internship over there.   Also, I have been to a few of the events and have been through the museum a few times.   It is such a beautiful place that is rich in history with all the memories of the amazing artist who had played at the 1969 Woodstock festival.   The Halloween festival is a fun walk through at night where you can see carved pumpkins that are used to create different sculptures.   Some of the pumpkins are carved out foam and other had been created by molds.   I actually got to meet the artist who did most of the carvings that you see there.   I do have some images of the festival on my phone which I may be able to use.   I’m planning on making sure that I use white space effectively to   make my images and informational text stand out. The ...

Photomontage Looking Through

Image
This is my first time using Photoshop to do a self-portrait photomontage and don’t want to leave out it is a hijack of one of my favorite artist Vincent Van Gogh.   It was super fun creating a montage of reflections of myself. Lately, I have been doing a lot of acrylic painting of some cute characters so I decided to pick Tuxedo Sam from Sanrio.   I thought Tuxedo could be floating on a star with a balloon in the sky that was painted by Van Gogh.   I feel like I also drift to different places when looking at such a beautiful paintings.   The bricks represents industry and lack of creativity.   You can also think of the bricks as representative of the places we go to everyday such as businesses and school building that a person spends so much of their life within.    The vines represented how I feel as I break away from society and go hiking and find beauty in the great outdoors.   I decided to use the vines wrapping idea as I found it...

Photomontage Look Again

Image
This project took much reflection and thought about how I would do a photomontage and do an image hijack of a famous painting to create a self-portrait photomontage.   I worked on sketches and project concepts for the photomontage.  My direction is to take normal objects that I use every day and create my self-portrait reflecting my personality, interest and beliefs.  I made sketches of a mirror which would then reflect images of myself.  I then decided to take that concept and see if I could use other items around me.  I love walking on the trails so I thought vines wrapping and twisting with images inside would be neat.  Next I thought I could use my favorite coffee mug and show reflections in the liquid.  The mailbox would be cool because it is symbolic of a place where news comes to your personal home which then I thought of a key hole looking out into the world but inside is myself.  Finally my last concept idea was to take a book...
